Abstract

A nine-member committee has been formed at the request of Cape Elizabeth Town Councilor Jean Ginn Marvin to study ways to halt drug and alcohol use among the community's teenagers. Police chief David W. Pickering said the formation of the group coincides with his desire to crack down on illegal substance abuse, and would like to see a comprehensive policy on how the police department should deal with juvenile drug offenders. Incidents over the last year involving LSD and marijuana use by middle and high school students prompted the formation of the committee. Details, list of committee members.
