Abstract
Martin's Point Health Care Centers and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine have entered into an innovative risk-sharing agreement under which doctors at Martin's Point will reap financial gain if they control the cost of treating their Blue Cross/Blue Shield HMO patients, but will have to reimburse the insurance company if costs go over a set amount. The initial agreement will cover Martin's Point patient who are enrolled in HMO Choice and HMO Maine plans, and will start this summer with 1,000 participants. Details.
