Abstract

One of eight articles profiling the Republican gubernatorial candidates. Charles M. Webster, 38, of Farmington, a heating contractor who has served five terms in the Maine Senate and two terms in the Maine House, if elected would cut state income taxes by 20 percent, reform the workers' comp program, revise the school funding formula, create a workfare program and freeze state spending to current levels for the next four years.
