Abstract

The Maine Peoples Alliance kicked off its door-to-door campaign for health care reform yesterday, and is gathering signatures on petitions aimed at providing Mainers with coverage equal to that received by members of Congress. The alliance contends that the state's Democratic congressional members support health care reform that would guarantee universal coverage, but criticized plans supported by U.S. senator William Cohen and U.S. represenative Olympia Snowe, both Republicans.
