Abstract
Scott Paper Co. on Tuesday confirmed that it wants to sell its S. D. Warren division, which employs 1,400 people at its Westbrook mill and another 3,100 at facilities in Skowhegan, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Alabama. Scott has hired the Salomon Brothers and Goldman Sachs investment banking firms to explore prospects for the division, and International Paper Co. has emerged as the most likely buyer so far. Warren produces glossy paper used in magazines, books, brochures and annual reports. Details.
