Another in a series of articles profiling the Republican candidates for the 1st District congressional seat. James B. Longley Jr., 42, of Lewiston, supports the death penalty, legalized abortions, a constitutional amendment to balance the budget and a presidential line-item veto, and opposes an increase in the minimum wage, a national bottle bill, statehood for the District of Columbia and legislation to ban employers from hiring replacements for striking workers.
