Abstract

The Maine Department of Economic Development yesterday announced that 11 Maine communities have received initial approval to participate in a federal Department of Housing and Urban Development grant program to improve main streets and help downtowns compete against malls and superstores. Topsham, Sanford, South Portland and Rockland are four of the communities that are now eligible to receive up to $30,000 each. The communities have two months to present detailed budgets to the state. Details.
