Abstract

Susan M. Escherich, a National Park Service historian, will feature Portland's 150-year-old Rosa True School in a book she has written on the use of income-tax credits to encourage renovation of historic buildings. Escherich said that the conversion of the Rosa True School into eight low-income apartments is one of the best examples of renovating an old building for socially worthwhile purposes.
