Abstract

Gorham voters yesterday recalled the municipal and school budgets, which would have caused the property tax to increase from $17.70 per $1,000 of valuation to $19.73. The increase would add $123 to the tax bill for a house valued at $100,000. The final tally was 1,115 votes for the budget, compared to 1,4832 votes to recall it. This is the second year in a row residents have voted to recall the budget. Details.
