Abstract

Gordon Clapp, 62, of Bangor, a former tourism consultant, is coordinating North Carolina's statewide intiative to link several Civil War sites, including Fort Fisher on the coast and the Cape Fear Museum in Fayetteville. Clapp says that North Carolina, which sent more men into battle than any other Confederate state, has never fully told its story of the war.
