Abstract

Residents of Bowerbank on Saturday voted 26-11 to pass an ordinance at town meeting that requires each head of household to bear arms and ammunition. The ordinance, which has no enforcement provision, does not apply to seasonal residents, and allows exceptions for those who oppose weapons on principle. A provision of the ordinance frees the town of any responsibility for shooting accidents and from having to buy guns or weapons for residents.
