Abstract

"Forum" piece by Michael L. Cline, director of the Northern Forest Program for the Maine Audubon Society, who says the state must acquire more forest land for the people to assure multiple use of the timberlands. Maine has less than five percent of the state in public ownership, which ties the state in last place nationally.
