Abstract

La Kermesse, the region's biggest celebration of Franco-American culture, is scheduled to begin today in Biddeford, and is expected to attract 50,000 people over four days. Mayor James M. Grattelo, the first Biddeford mayor in memory not to claim fluency in French, will help launch the festival with a rendition of "Alouette." Details, schedule of events.
