Abstract

The Junior League has teamed up with the Youth Family and Outreach agency, formerly the Portland Ministry-At-large, to work at the Beacon Teen Center in the former Preble Street Chapel in Portland, a place where homeless teenagers can play pool, listen to music and talk with the League volunteers who staff the center. The League raised around $20,000 for the project, with a goal to provide a safe gathering place for teenagers. Details.
