Abstract
The Silver Seas expedition, which left Maine last October to recover sunken treasure off Haiti, ventured no further into the Caribbean than Key West, due to violence in Haiti and problems with the crew. Bruce Montgomery, an investor and former crewman, places the blame on the incompetence of organizer Greg Brooks, while Brooks says crew turnover and itinerary changes reflect the hardships of hunting for treasure. Brooks said the ship and new crew have been subcontracted to Mel Fisher, a famous treasure salvager in Key West. Details.
