Abstract

Harriett S. Peterson, 53, a computer aide at Portland's Training Resource Center, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980, and after both breasts were removed had breast implants. Peterson had the implants replaced in 1983 and again in 1989 due to problems, and had the final set removed in 1991. She is now among the more than 130 Maine women who have hired lawyers to represent them in litigation over breast implants. Details, related articles.
