Abstract

Brief article reporting that the Maine Yankee nuclear plant in Wiscasset yesterday experienced an unusual event when the main fire supression system became temporarily inoperable. The system relies on two main pumps, one of which was already out of service for repairs. A reserve system using a fire department pumper was put into place.
