Abstract

The federal Environmental Protection Agency says Louisiana-Pacific Corp.'s plant in New Limerick must cut its nitrogen oxide emissions by 176 tons annually, meaning the company may need even more pollution credits from the state's auto emissions testing program than it previously requested. Gov. McKernan has proposed giving Louisiana-Pacific 200 tons of credit from the emissions program to offset the pollution from a proposed expansion at its waferboard factory in Aroostook County.
