Abstract

The E. Klaman Bottles store on Fore Street in Portland's Old Port area was vandalized Thursday night, and Al Klaman, one of the owners, says the police department failed to notify him that a window was broken and the store was subject to looting. Klaman, 72, owner of Safe-Way Taxi, said the store has been essentially closed for a year because of his brother Sam Klaman's illness. Klaman indicated he was going to board the store's windows up to protect his bottles. Details.
