Abstract
Cianbro Corp. of Pittsfield completed the first phase of the new $3.5 million Peaks Island ferry pier in the spring of 1993, and Gloucester Dredge and Dock Inc. of Topsfield, Mass., began the second phase in August 1993. Gloucester Dredge asked for a three-month extension on the project after work was not completed by the April deadline, at which point the Maine Department of Transportation fired the company. Prock Marine Inc. of Rockland has been hired to finish rebuilding the ferry terminal, and work could resume next week. Details.
