Abstract

Prices on corrugated cardboard have increased from $15 per ton in December to $130 per ton, newspaper has gone from $25 per ton to $65 per ton and natural-colored plastic has increased from $160 to $240 per ton. The price increases are particularly welcome at town recycling centers, many of which have operated at a loss for several years. Industry observers don't expect the high prices to be permanent but believe the market will level out in a range higher than before the price increases. Details, related article.
