Abstract

Daniel McCusker, who moved to Portland in 1985 to become artistic director of Ram Island Dance, will leave at the end of the summer to teach at Holy Cross College in Worcester, Mass. Millicent Monks, director and founder of Ram Island, said the organization has closed its dance school, and while the dance company has not closed there are no performances scheduled for the coming season. The departure of McCusker and the closing of Ram Island's dance school leaves even fewer opportunities for young dancers in the area.
