Abstract
James Pryor, a cross-country cyclist from Flaggstaff, Arizona, who recently had his bike stolen in Portland has accepted two new bikes donated by L.L. Bean and Joe Jones Ski and Sport in Scarborough. Pryor received more than 100 offers for new bikes from Mainers embarrassed by the fact his had been stolen from outside the Oxford Street Shelter. Pryor accepted two bikes with the thought of using the second one as a backup if needed. His stolen bike has been recoverd and returned to him by Portland police, but it had been damaged and cannot be ridden. The final leg of Pryor's trip will take him to West Quoddy Head.
