Abstract

The Maine Sunday Telegram last week put a 1986 Ford Escort through all seven of the state's automobile emissions test sites, and the visits produced seven sets of results with wide fluctuations in the results. Scott Bauman, the spokesman for the CarTest program, said he is condifident that test analyzers are accurate, and conceded that some cars will get different test results without repairs or adjustments.
