Abstract

The S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien, built by the New England Shipbuilding Corp. in South Portland in 1943, is scheduled to arrive in Portland Harbor next week. The South Portland Shipyard Society told the ship's owner, the National Liberty Ship Memorial in San Francisco, that it would raise $100,000 to pay for the visit, but Edward Langlois of the society says his group has only raised a fraction of that amount.
