Abstract

The Bowdoin College campus in Brunswick is hosting the New England Yearly Meeting of Friends, and around 700 members have convened for the largest annual gathering of Quakers in the six-state region. The group last met at Bowdoin more than 30 years ago, and the annual gathering will give members a chance to discuss financial matters concerning their non-profit insitutions in the region. There are some 120,000 Quakers in Canada and the United States, and they prize pacifism, silence and individuality. Details.
