Abstract

The .38-caliber revolver used in the July 18 shooting death of 15-year-old Shanna Papworth of Auburn was returned to its owner by Auburn police just hours before the shooting. Michael C. Gunn, 20, of Auburn, allegedly sold it to a friend of 14-year-old Jacob Anderson, who was arrested on a charge of reckless conduct with a firearm after the incident. A woman had given the gun to police for safekeeping after Gunn left it at her residence.
