Abstract
U.S. senator George J. Mitchell, the Senate Majority Leader, yesterday faced off with Senate Minority Leader Robert Dole of Kansas on NBC's "Meet the Press," and talked about the health care reform bill proposals now before the Congress, the Senate version of which was introduced by Mitchell. The exchange did little to encourage hopes that health reform can be passed this year, despite the protagonists contention they they believe Congress will pass a bill this year. Mitchell's measure, however, is clearly in trouble. Details.
