Abstract

Kennebec Valley CoHousing, the state's first cohousing development, on July 29 received a $62,000 predevelopment loan from the Maine Community Loan Fund. The group last year received an Affordable Housing Program grant of $144,000 from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, and is currently awaiting final approval of a $1 million loan from the federal Farmers Home Administration's Rural Cooperative Housing fund. If KVCH receives the loan, it will be the first such loan since new FHA rules were instituted in 1991. Details.
