Abstract
Radio station WLPZ-AM 1440, the 5,000-watt AM sister station of WCSO, has endured one ownership change and three format changes in three years. Tom Sayler, program director, was hired in late 1992 and told to find a format that would attract listeners and increase advertising revenue. Sayler decided on sports, and more than a year ago All Sports 1440 was launched. Although still far from making a profit, listener and sponsor numbers at the station are growing, and Sayler has reason for his guarded optimism. Details.
