Abstract

Savan Man, 64, a Buddhist monk, arrived in Maine on August 14, and his presence at the temple on Dedham Street in Portland now gives Cambodians in the area a source for advice and spiritual guidance. Before his arrival the nearest monk was in Lowell, Mass., and his being here completes the Cambodian cultural community. Sovan Man came to the United States in 1978, and has served Cambodians in Iowa, Arizona and California. Details.
