Abstract

William Wegman of New York settles into a hunting lodge in Rangeley from July through September each year, and uses the time to work on his children's books. Fay Ray, an 8-year-old Weimaraner dog, is the star of the books, and Wegman has photographed her in an evening gown, on an ironing board and under a fishing net. His photos of Ray and her three full-grown pups have won him a wide international audience. Details.
