The Edward T. Gignoux Courthouse on Federal Street in Portland, built in 1911 at a cost of $340,000, is currently undergoing a $12 million renovation. Leers Weinzapfel Associates Architects of Boston, a firm specializing in courthouse design, are doing the design work on the granite landmark, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
