Abstract

Plato Truman, 65, of Biddeford, has lost ten campaigns for public office in Maine, and is now running as an independent candidate for the U.S. Senate. Truman has run as an independent three times, a Democrat four times and a Republican three times, and served one term in the Maine House of Representatives, in 1965-66. He figures to spend around $100,000 on the current campaign, much of it his own money. Details, related article.
