Abstract
A hot, dry and sunny summer is responsible for the super-sweet corn that some Maine farmers are harvesting from their fields. The sweet corn varieties have been around for years, but due to cool spring temperatures have traditionally not done well in New England. The lack of rain this summer impeded some farmers, but those with irrigation systems generally produced a good crop of corn. Details.
