Maine Attorney General Michael Carpenter yesterday said his office will continue to speak out against a referendum that would preclude homosexuals from legal protection against discrimination. Carolyn Cosby, leader of Concerned Maine Families, said that Carpenter is out of line in his support for Maine Won't Discriminate, the group formed to oppose the November 1995 ballot question proposed by Cosby's group.
