Abstract

Richard Carney, who has been dragging a metal detector along the bottom of Maine's lakes for eight years, last month found a Saugus (Mass.) High School ring lost in the summer of 1943. Carney tracked down the owner, Beverly Parker Gray of New York, who was absolutely amazed that the ring was rediscovered.
