Abstract

Patrick McDonough, 2, of Wells, on Wednesday died in the transplant ward of Boston Children's Hospital. The boy had been battling acute myelofibrosis, a rare form of leukemia, since being diagnosed in November, and underwent a bone-marrow transplant in the spring. Donor drives to find a bone-marrow match drew around 3,000 New Englanders, enlarging the list of available donors. Details.
