Abstract

The Northern Forest Lands Council yesterday released a report urging stronger land conservation programs, tax policy changes and a review of logging practices to preserve the northern forest. The federal advisory group's report makes 37 environmental and economic proposals that largely support the status quo regarding private ownership and multiple use of the forest, and puts more emphasis on conservation.
