Abstract

Idexx Laboratories Inc. of Westbrook has acquired AMIS International Co., a veterinary testing laboratory based outside of Tokyo, for around $1 million. AMIS was incorporated in 1987, and 1993 revenues were just over $2 million. Idexx incorporated its Japanese subsidiary around two years ago, and though it is still in the development stage annual sales in Japan are over $1 million.
