Abstract

The Westbrook School Department has arranged for Sentry Answering Service of Maine, a Westbrook firm, to handle telephone calls to the department's transportation office through the end of October. School department officials will monitor the effectiveness of the arrangement and make a recommendation to the school committee for approval. The measure is a result of an incident at the beginning of the school year during which parents were unable to reach anyone in the transportation office to report that their children were overdue in arriving home.
