Abstract

The Rev. Margaret Lawson on Sundays conducts two to three hours of worship at the Green Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church on Munjoy Hill in Portland, and since late July has been following that up with an afternoon gospel brunch at Morganfield's, a blues club in Portland. Lawson, 55, became a minister 20 years ago, and since coming to Portland last year membership at Green Memorial AME has increased from around 15 or 20 to 60 or 70. Ed Noyes, owner of Morganfield's, was a disc jockey on WMPG-FM for eight years, where he hosted a blues show. Details.
