Abstract

Republican gubernatorial candidate Susan M. Collins yesterday began running a new television ad that seeks to discredit independent candidate Angus King. The ad, which raises questions about King's claims to being a conservative businessman and independent who no longer believes in government's ability to solve all problems, marks the first time any of the gubernatorial candidates has mentioned an opponent by name in a paid ad.
