Abstract

Secretary of State G. William Diamond says his office is mounting a campaign called "The Big Push," a public information campaign designed to get people to vote. State election officials have contacted more than 120 corporations and other organizations to enlist their support in promoting the election, and voter guides have been revised to make the material easier to read. In Maine's June primary elections, the number of registered voters exceeded 918,000. Of that number, 306,000 were registered as Democrats, and 269,000 were registered as Republicans. Details.
