Abstract

Nearly 90 percent of the 1,200 moose hunt permit holders killed moose, a sign that the state's moose herd is healthy. Preliminary tallies indicate that 1,079 moose were shot during the six-day hunt. The 90 percent success rate compares to deer hunters, who generally have a 15 percent success rate. Details.
