Abstract

An S.D. Warren spokesman yesterday said that the half-mile-long pile of hemlock logs stored along Commercial Street in Portland has been sold to sawmills in Quebec and Maine and a paper mill in New York. Around 10 truckloads of logs are being removed from the waterfront site daily, and the company is optimistic the entire pile will be gone by the end of December. Details.
