Abstract

Pratt & Whitney announced that layoffs and plant closings will be swifteer and more severe than previously announced but gave no indication of the fate of its 1,500 workers in North Berwick. Workers at the North Berwick plant, which manufactures blades, vanes and stators for jet engines, have already seen 200 positions cut.
