Abstract

Students in Barbara Bogus' class for troubled youth at the Sanford Alternative School are learning about philanthropy by deciding how to hand out a $1,000 grant under a program that teaches kids about charitable giving. This year is the fourth for the Partners in Philanthropy program, organized by the Maine Community Foundation in Ellsworth and funded by the Ford Foundation.
