Democrat and Republican lawmakers are in agreement that public reaction to the recent State House ballot-tampering scandal will determine whether House Speaker John L. Martin keeps his job or is forced to step down from the post he has held for nearly 20 years. Most Democratic representatives see no reason to unseat the speaker. Related article.
