Abstract

A sampling of Mainers indicates there is no general consensus on whether House Speaker John L. Martin should be removed from office, resign or just continue performing his duties. Martin was cleared of any criminal activity in the recent State House ballot-tampering scandal, but perhaps knew more than he should have about the actions of top aide Kenneth M. Allen.
